Anatomical Pathology Services Offered
All Cases
All biopsies include microscopic description, diagnosis, comment
Turnaround time is 2-4 working days from the time the samples is received for most cases (samples that require additional decalcification or fixation may require more time).
Includes special stains ordered at the pathologist discretion

Surgical Oncology and Medicine cases
Includes endoscopic/full thickness biopsies, nasal biopsies, liver/organ biopsies, amputated limbs, spleens and liver masses, intestinal resections, skin masses, mandibulectomies/maxillectomies, mammary resections.
Price includes evaluation of lymph nodes found within larger excisional specimens such as amputated limbs and mammary glands.
Larger specimens should be submitted fresh with ice packs if possible.
Special pricing for endoscopic samples (please submit free floating in jar)
Radical mastectomy evaluation includes inguinal lymph node evaluation (see fee schedule for pricing)
NO additional complex/large tissue fees
Dermatopathology
Includes evaluation of up to 5 biopsies per site/pathologic process, additional biopsies will be charged on a per site basis
Please email or upload clinical pictures when case is submitted
Ancillary Testing
Collection of fresh/frozen tissue for genetic analysis available at no additional charge
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Most common veterinary diagnostic IHC stains are available and are charged per stain. Please contact us if you are looking for a specific stain.
Results typically take 5-6 working days.
PARR testing
B- and T-cell analysis available through an outside vendor and price includes shipping.
Results typically take 1-2 weeks
Quantitative copper analysis
Provided through outside vendor and includes shipping
Results typically take 7-10 working days
Additional information
Courier service available in Northern California and Western Washington state
Supplies – Formalin jars, specimen bags and lock boxes available upon request.
